The N_eye punches above its weight on hardware — 4K, PTZ, and AI detection at this price is genuinely unusual. It trades that against software quality and brand reliability. Whether that trade is worth it depends entirely on what you need.

Buy it if you need a dual-purpose camera — security monitoring and baby monitor — on a tight budget, and image quality matters more to you than app polish. Also a reasonable buy if you want 4K footage and PTZ at the lowest price point possible and you're comfortable with a no-frills app.

Skip it if you already have cameras in an established ecosystem and need easy integration, or if you're the type of person who will genuinely be frustrated by software that isn't refined. Also skip it if you need reliable long-term manufacturer support.

My honest take: the hardware is real. A 4K PTZ camera with functional AI human detection for under $35 is hard to find. The app holds it back from being a straightforward recommendation, but for the specific use case of budget-conscious home monitoring — especially as a baby monitor with security camera overlap — it earns its place.
